But this can change to ethical numbness. The paper examines five causes of ethical numbness among lawyers in the Asia and South Pacific region. How can we counteract this numbness, and maintain a strong sense of ethics among legal professionals? The paper identifies five strategies which are employed across the region to maintain the early ideals. (The paper was presented at the Eighth Annual International Business Ethics Conference; “Rule of Law and International Business Ethics Conference”; 21-22 October 2011: University of International Business and Economics, Beijing.)engWith permission of the license/copyright holderprofessional ethicslegal ethicscontinuing professional developmentlawyers associationsPolitical ethicsEthics of lawRights based legal ethicsEconomic ethicsEthical Numbness: Some Glimpses of Lawyers Across Asia and The South PacificArticle
