Pero, además, los textos nos han llegado en una forma final, que no responde a la enunciación histórica de tal o cual profeta, sino más bien a los problemas y preguntas del compositor final. Cuando es posible discernir críticamente el proceso de las relecturas hermenéuticas que acompañan las distintas situaciones vividas, la “distancia” percibida entre el punto de partida de un texto profético y su punto de llegada redaccional, nos ayuda a comprender que la palabra profética no se agota en su primera producción sino que desencadena un continuum de relecturas. Cada una de éstas no es más que un nuevo momento de una revelación continuada de Dios en la historia. En los libros proféticos el trabajo redaccional de las relecturas es tan profundo y creativo, que se revela más importante que la mera transmisión de una palabra “auténtica” de tal o cual personaje" "In order to understand a prophetic message it is necessary to recognize the form in which it is given, either literary or structural. When it is possible to critically discern the process of hermeneutical re-readings which accompany the varying situations experienced, the perceived “distance” between the point of origin of a prophetic text and its edited version as it reaches us help us to comprehend that the prophetic word is not extinguished in its first production, rather it releases a continuum of re-readings, each of which is no more than a new point in a continual revelation of God in history.
