Abstract
"O propósito deste texto é o desejo de colocar umas quantas questões, de articular e de partilhar algumas “afirmações” ou “preocupações”, as quais não se apresentam como teses ou sequer tomada de posição. Talvez apenas como a abertura de uma cena. Ou talvez apenas como a enunciação de uma trama de conceitos que desenham um território de reflexão ainda móvel. Algumas dessas interrogações lanço-as já na sua formulação mais imediata. Em que medida é que o espaço da representação pode ser “político”? Que tipo de responsabilidade para com o mundo possui a arte? Em que é que repousa a “autoridade” do gesto artístico, e em que termos é que ela se legitima? Como é que a extensão cada vez maior do “audiovisual” (lato sensu) e dos “tele-sentidos”, no espaço da cultura, afecta a capacidade de olhar e de escutar? Em que medida é que a luz ofuscante e equívoca da civilização dos media alterou a relação entre os dispositivos de representação e as condições de possibilidade da subjectividade democrática? Ou, formulado noutros termos, pode a estética (no sentido dos vários modos da experiência do sensível), como o pensou uma boa parte da tradição filosófica, ser portadora de uma ética de uma transformação no modo como habitamos o mundo? Como é que o modo como habitamos o espaço da representação tem implicações na co-habitação e na configuração da vida colectiva?" ["The purpose of this text is the desire to put a few questions to articulate and share some "statements" or "concerns", which are not presented as theses or even taking a position. Maybe just as the opening of a scene. Or maybe just as the enunciation of a web of concepts drawing a territory even mobile reflection. Some of them have questions haul in its immediate formulation. To what extent is that the space of representation can be "political"? What kind of responsibility towards the world has the art? In what lies the "authority" of the artistic gesture, and on what terms is it legitimized? How does the growing extent of "audiovisual" (strictly speaking) and "tele-senses" in the space of culture, affects the ability to look and listen? To what extent is the blinding light of civilization and misleading media has changed the relationship between the representation of devices and the conditions of possibility of democratic subjectivity? Or in other words, can the aesthetic (in the sense the various modes of sensory experience), as thought much of the philosophical tradition, be the bearer of an ethic of a transformation in the way we inhabit the world? How does the way we inhabit the space of representation has implications for cohabitation and configuration of collective life?"]
