Abstract
"El derecho a tener una vida de calidad aceptable, a merecer un trato respetuoso, a ser auxiliado en las enfermedades y en otros infortunios no se ha convertido, lamentablemente en un hecho natural para la sociedad. Han pasado incontable civilizaciones sin detenerse a reflexionar para definir los Derechos Humanos y menos aún para defenderlos. Padres de la Iglesia, juristas y filósofos han escrito durante siglos los derechos del Hombre, intentando darle un fundamento teórico. Pero hasta épocas muy recientes no se ha logrado un con- Cuadernos de Bioética 2001/2 a senso internacional o gubernamental, ni convenio escrito sobre el tema.
