Abstract
The aim of this article is to explore the history, tenet and practice of tarekat Naqsyabandiyah Syaikh Abdul Wahab Rokan as well as analyzes the dynamic changes of this tarekat in Babussalam. The Tarekat Naqsyabandiyah in North Sumatra was first developed by Syaikh Abdul Wahab Rokan. As a result, the tenet of this tarekat developed by him has changed the lives of his followers in Babussalam socially to a more prosperous life. This argues that the application of the tenet of tarekat Naqsyabandiyah Syaikh Abdul Wahab Rokan which emphasizes that the material world is not the only matter in life has become an avenue for creating a balance between the profane and eternal dimension of life.
