Abstract
Kritik von zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen an transnatio‐ nalen Unternehmen kreist weniger um Fragen effizienter und effektiver Aufgabenerfüllung, als vielmehr um Verantwortungs‐ und Legitimitätsfragen. Aus ihrer Sicht müssen Organisationen lernen Verantwortung für Teile der Gesellschaft zu übernehmen, die nicht direkt vom organisationalen Erfolg profitieren, sich aber unter Umständen mit negativen Auswirkungen organisationaler Aktivitäten konfrontiert sehen. (The criticisms of NGOs about transnational companies focus less on efficiency, than on questions of responsibility and legitimacy. In their view, companies need to be responsible for those parts of society that do not directly benefit from their organizational successes, and sometimes even have to face the negative consequences of their activities.)
