Abstract
"El artículo resalta la tradición del año sabático en la Biblia. Nos dice que existen por lo menos tres vertientes importantes de esta tradición: el año séptimo como descanso de la tierra, el año séptimo como año de la liberación de esclavos y esclavas, y el año séptimo como año de remisión de las deudas. Se enfoca sobre todo los textos de Ex 21,2-11 y Dt 15,1-11. En el estudio de la ley de remisión de esclavos en Ex 21,2-11 se quiere establecer una relación entre la crítica profética del siglo 8 y el proceso de empobrecimiento del campesinado israelita a través de contratos de deudas y la reformulación de las leyes sociales del Código de la Alianza en este período. Igualmente se quiere enfocar la ampliación de esas leyes sociales en el Código Deuteronómico, así como la ley de la remisión de las deudas cada siete años. Las leyes del año sabático son una manera de intervención de Dios en las relaciones sociales y una manera de proponer el establecimiento de un tiempo de gracia para recomenzar. It emphasizes that there exist at least three important expressions of this tradition: the seventh year as year of the rest for the land, the seventh year as a year of manumission for slaves, and the seventh year as the year of remission of debts. The article focuses primarily on the texts of Ex 21:2-11 and Deut 15:1-11. The study of the law of the manumission of the slaves in Ex 21:2-11 seeks to establish a relationship between the prophetic critique of the eighth century BCE, the impoverishment of Israelite peasants through debt bondage, and the social legislation of the Covenant Law in this period. This study also focuses attention on the expansion of these social laws in the Deuteronomic Code, as well as the law of the remission of debts every seven years. The laws of the sabbatical year are a way in which God intervenes in given social relations and establishes a period of grace for beginning anew"
