Abstract
"La evidencia científica manifiesta que el embrión humano es –desde su estado unicelular de cigoto– un nuevo individuo de la especie humana que a lo largo de su vida, en un proceso continuo, irá desarrollando las diferentes estructuras que integrarán el organismo adulto. En las primeras fases de su desarrollo embrionario, concretamente desde su estado de cigoto hasta el de blastocisto, el embrión está constituido por las denominadas células troncales embrionarias cuya diferenciación puede dirigirse in vitro hacia diferentes tipos celulares. Por otra parte, una concepción personalista del ser humano lleva necesariamente a reconocer el valor intrínseco de toda vida humana individual.
