Abstract
The International Code of Ethics for Occupational Health Professionals is relevant to many professional groups carrying out tasks and having responsibilities in enterprises as well as in the private and public sectors concerning safety, hygiene, health and the environment in relation to work. The term occupational health professionals category is for the purpose of this Code defined as a broadly target group whose common vocation is a professional commitment in pursuing an occupational health agenda. The scope of this Code covers activities of occupational health professionals both when they are acting in individual capacity and as part of organisations or undertakings providing services to clients and customers. The Code applies to occupational health professionals and occupational health services regardless of whether they operate in a free market context subject to competition or within the framework of public sector health services.
