Abstract
"La información médica es un elemento fundamental de la actividad sanitaria. El derecho a la información médica tiene su fundamento en nuestra Constitución. La Ley General de Sanidad (LGS) de 25 de Abril de 1986 es la primera referencia concreta en cuanto al consentimiento informado (CI) (1). El contenido de la carta de los derechos expresa la traducción y la adaptación de las facultades que nuestra Carta Magna de 1978 sancionó para todos los ciudadanos, por tanto no se trata de nuevos y diferentes derechos. Básicamente se trata de la aplicación de los derechos ya existentes al mundo de la medicina, donde se entiende debe existir una mayor protección y tutela de la persona, por el hecho de estar enferma y por tanto con limitaciones en la defensa de sus intereses" ["Medical information is a key element of health activity. The right to medical information is grounded in our Constitution. The General Health Law (LGS) of April 25, 1986 is the first specific reference with regard to informed consent (IC) (1). The contents of the letter of rights expresses the translation and adaptation of the powers our 1978 Magna Charter sanctioned for all citizens, so there are new and different rights. Basically it is the application of existing rights to the world of medicine, where it is understood must be greater protection and guardianship of the person, by virtue of being sick and therefore constrained in defending their interests"]
