Abstract
"Liberalismo e paternalismo são termos conceitualmente antinômicos que se referem, em última instância, a atitudes opostas na forma de tratar o outro e de governar, visto que o primeiro afirma o valor da liberdade individual e o segundo a nega. Mas, se inscrevermos esta antinomia no campo complexo da filosofia política contemporânea, pode-se entender a “antinomia” como um momento inscrito em uma dialética, entendida como um processo no qual a conflituosidade pode dar origem a formas de convergência capaz de resolver o conflito em pauta. Mas, para poder fazer isso devemos começar por uma análise racional e imparcial dos conceitos evolvidos nas argumentações em campo, para, em seguida, tentar relacioná-los em um primeiro movimento dialético, em que o liberalismo constituiria a tese e o paternalismo a antítese, cuja síntese seria representada pela biopolítica, a qual pode ser vista também como uma nova tese de um novo movimento dialético, cuja antítese seria representada pela bioética e cuja nova síntese pode ser constituída pelas formas concretas de empoderamento em formação" ["Liberalism and paternalism are, conceptually, antonymic terms, referred, in last instance, to antagonistic attitudes in the form to treat the other and to govern, since the first one affirms the value of the individual freedom and the second denies it. But, if we inscribe this antinomy in the complex field of the contemporary philosophy of politics, we understand the “antinomy” as a moment of a dialectic process between conflict and convergence that can be resolved in practice. But, to be able to do this we must start for a rational and impartial analysis of the concepts involved in the arguments used in the field, for, after that, trying to relate them in a first dialectical movement, where liberalism would constitute the thesis and paternalism the antithesis, whose synthesis would be represented by biopolitics, which can also be seen as a new thesis of a new dialectical movement, whose antithesis would be represented by bioethics and whose new synthesis can be constituted by the concrete forms of empowerment in formation"]
