Abstract
"A paper read to the Northern Baptist Fraternal Conference at Stocks field-on- Tyne, October, 1925. K EEPING in mind that there are no clean breaks in the history of thought, but that one period slowly dissolves into the next the distinguishing marks of which only gradually dawn, we may attempt to realize the marks of modern thought. Modern thought on the Person of Christ is wholly Protestant. A change began at the Reformation which set thought free from ecclesiastical authority. Progress since the Reformation has, in general, been a movement of life"
