Abstract
"O rito do batismo é tido como a cerimônia que insereo prosélito no seio da comunidade cristã. No meio cristão, surgem polêmicas quanto a sua origem, forma e natureza. Assim, este artigo analisa as origens hebraicas desse rito e como sua compreensão desdobrou-se no decorrer da formação do cânon bíblico e também entre os judeus no começo do primeiro século da era cristã. Por último, será feita uma comparação do ensinamento bíblico com aquilo que denominações cristãs têm praticado hoje no que diz respeito à forma e a natureza do batismo" ["The rite of baptism is regarded as the ceremony insereo proselyte within the Christian community. In the Christian community, there are controversies about its origin, form and nature. Thus, this article analyzes the Hebrew origins of this rite and how your understanding unfolded during the formation of the biblical canon and also among the Jews at the beginning of the first century of the Christian era. Finally, it will be a comparison of biblical teaching with what Christian denominations have practiced today with regard to the form and nature of baptism"]
