Abstract
"O propósito deste artigo é explorar conexões entre consumismo e meio ambiente com ênfase no discurso bíblico. A partir do referencial teórico e do discurso religioso representado pela Bíblia, foi possível encontrar diversos fatores que estabelecem conexões entre meio ambiente e consumismo. Alguns apresentam significados contrários a postulados do movimento ecológico moderno, e outros revelam conteúdos sintonizados com as necessidades sociais atuais na busca de um desenvolvimento sustentável" ["The aim of this article is to explore connections between consumerism and environment focused on Biblical discourse. From the theoretical references and the religious discourse represented by the Bible, it was possible to find many factors that lay down connections between environment and consumerism; while some factors show meanings against postulates of modern ecological movement, others reveal contents within the actual social needs in the search of sustainable growth"]
