Abstract
“Good Work Project” by Csikszentmihalyi, Damon and Gardner, is an empirically based and relatively well-known model of ethical business, which plays the role of the starting point in the presented paper. The authors of this text assumed, that the mentioned American model of business ethics in practice, could have some antecedents in different business cultures. As the example they present and analyze “The New Culture of Work” – a model of ethical business, which was developed in Poland, concerns the provincial side of the globalization processes, 50 years before “Good Work Project”. The aim is to find out – within both areas: theoretical and practical – ideological similarities of these two models (which would prove that the Polish model is the antecedent). A positive solution to this problem could influence remarkably business education (as the example of the intellectual tools for business ethics training course, which respects local ideological tradition and are compatible with American models at the same time) and became a basis for examination of cross-cultural business ethics aspects. Additionally, it could become the baseline for further studies, if other provincial models similar to “Good Work Project” do exist.
