Abstract
"Este pequeño ensayo pretende ir más allá de las celebraciones hagiográficas que hacen del Manifiesto Comunista un monumento para reflexionar sobre las lecciones que se pueden extraer de las formas específicas de su fallida realización. Contra el cliché de que el Manifiesto es un texto profético, deberíamos explorar la disyunción entre el pronóstico incisivo de la “prosa” del capitalismo y la anticipación frustrada de la “poesía” de la revolución. Este ensayo argumenta que las limitaciones analíticas y políticas del Manifiesto deben ser localizadas en la excesiva linealidad y homogeneidad con que enmarca los poderes de abstracción del capital. En la medida en que el capital procede mediante una dialéctica de la homogeneización y la diferenciación, de la expansión y la división espacial, la erosión de la tradición y su refuncionamiento cínico con el objeto de apuntalar la dominación, las tareas de la unidad de la clase obrera y la internacionalización planteadas por el Manifiesto devienen aún más apremiantes políticamente, y cualquier cosa excepto inevitables" ["This short essay aims to move beyond hagiographic, monumentalising celebrations of The Communist Manifesto, to reflect on what lessons can be drawn from the specific forms of its failed realisation. Against the cliché that the Manifesto is a prophetic text, we should explore the disjunction between the incisive forecast of the ‘prose’ of capitalism and the thwarted anticipation of the ‘poetry’ of revolution. This essay argues that the analytical and political limitations of the Manifesto are to be located in the excessive linearity and homogeneity with which if frames capital’s powers of abstraction. To the extent that capital proceeds through a dialectic of homogenisation and differentiation, spatial expansion and division, corrosion of tradition and its cynical refunctioning for the purpose of shoring up domination, the tasks of working class unity and internationalism set by the Manifesto become all the more politically pressing, and anything but inevitable"]
