Abstract
Experience from CIDSE partner organisations and programmes shows the significant and growing influence that the private sector has in the developing world. The CIDSE Private Sector Working Group has been following the mandate of Professor John Ruggie, UN Special Representative to the Secretary-General on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises since 2005. As his mandate draws to a close, CIDSE would like contribute further specific recommendations on the final development and operationalization of the “protect, respect, remedy” framework.
