Abstract
"Con los distintos ciclos que experimentamos, vivimos una serie de finales, algunos se repiten, otros no, son finales últimos, definitivos, inexorables. El problema está en que no siempre sabemos cuáles son de qué clase. Con el cambio de milenio, los discursos apocalípticos se vieron revisitados por ejemplo tal fue el caso del llamado “efecto Y2K” que generaría un caos electrónico, luego la conclusión del calendario maya del 2012 invitó a mirar el abismo de la extinción. En el lenguaje coloquial se usa el término “apocalipsis” como si significase el fin del mundo o de la especie, pero la palabra griega significa revelación. Por ello cuando nuestro secretario de redacción sugirió un número temático sobre “las perspectivas de lo apocalíptico”se aprobó por unanimidad. Porque lo interesante no es tanto cuál es la fecha exacta de nuestra desaparición sino qué nos dicen los discursos apocalípticos de nosotros y de nuestro tiempo" ["With the different cycles that we experience, we live a series of endings, some are repeated, some are not final, final, final, inexorable.
