Abstract
"O silêncio é uma palavra que apresenta várias polaridades. O homem comum tem expressado de diversas formas alguns de seus sentidos, que se manifestam nos ditados populares, a vida dos que vivem, ou não, o silêncio . Desde tempos imemoráveis o homem busca momentos de silêncio para refletir, meditar, buscar a verdade e a paz. Assim, vários homens de ciência manifestaram de diversas formas esta característica da personalidade humana. Até mesmo o ócio, trabalho mental, é identificado como o silêncio intelectual. O homem é um ser que esquece; e lembrar esta atitude de silêncio intelectual, que faz parte da natureza humana, pode ajudar a simplificar o modo de fazer ciência. Aqueles que negam o ócio, poderão estar perdendo um bom negócio" ["Silence is a word with several polarities. Common men have expressed senses of silence by different forms; and popular expressions are the expression of a life from those who live the silence, or not. Since ancient times, man make silence to yourself to reflect, to pray, to look for the true and peace. Some researchers, with their lives, have been shown this characteristic of human personality. Even otium means mental work, and has a identity with intelectual silence. The man is a person who forgets; and reminding this essential posture of human nature, may help to simplify the way of making science. Those who negligenciate the otium, perhaps are losting a good negotium"]
