Abstract
["An analysis of gender in religion based on disciplines as diverse as Biblical hermeneutics, feminist theology, sociology, anthropology, and the history of religions constitutes the presence of women and their political action within the various religious universes in our time. A re-vision will be presented here which will be panoramic and will take into account the contributions of some representative scholars who come from Catholicism, from institutional and historic Christianities, Evangelical and popular Christianities, and even the original religions of the American and African continents. These authors (all women) who are re-visited are creators within their own religious traditions, they seek to analyze the representations and popularization of women in their respective ambits, reformulating the criteria with which they are studied. They wish to recover women from their invisibility, examine their connectedness with religious authority, and re-evaluate their participation in the contemporary religious phenomenon".]
