"Le présent code d’éthique s’adresse aux membres individuels de BIS et à tous les bibliothécaires et les professionnels de l’information actifs en Suisse, quelles que soient leur fonction et leurs qualifications professionnelles. Il détermine leur positionnement dans la société de l’information parallèlement aux chartes institutionnelles des services documentaires, qui orientent la mission de ceux-ci et en définissent les principes de fonctionnement." ["This code of ethics is addressed to individual members of BIS and all librarians and information professionals active in Switzerland, regardless of their function and their professional qualifications. He determines their position in Information Society alongside the institutional charters of information services that guide the mission of these and define the operating principles."]
