Abstract
"The recent crises remind us of the serious consequences that financial vices can cause to a society: recession, unemployment, bankruptcies, poverty, increased inequalities, loss of confidence and social cohesion, etc. The separation between ethics and finance is mostly responsible for these issues. The goal of this dissertation is to show that finance can steadily contribute to the common good as long as ethics can be permanently introduced in its theory and practice. This requires a profound change of paradigms, a humanization of finances at both personal and institutional level. The origin of the current division between ethics and finances will be explored, analyzing the theoretical foundations and how these influence social confidence and common good. The challenges faced by financial ethics in the context of globalization, Corporate Social Responsibility and education will also be shown."(pg 70-71)
