Abstract
"Cómo abordar el cambio de milenio y las oportunidades y desafíos que éste presenta, he aquí uno de los grandes problemas de la Iglesia. La crisis de época que quiso superar el Vaticano II ya está aquí, inscrita en el marco de una involución interna del catolicismo respecto de la apertura conciliar. Se ha producido un desplazamiento eclesiológico, marcado por el final de la cristiandad y el inicio de una nueva era de misión que exige una reestructuración interna y externa. Tal replanteamiento demanda una nueva forma de evangelización y espiritualidad, una reforma interna y una nueva ubicación en un mundo cambiante y muy distinto al de hace 50 años." "One of the church’s greatest problems consists in coming to grips with the change of the millennium and the opportunities and difficulties this presents. The epochal crisis Vatican II intended to surmount has turned into an internal involution for Catholicism, which contrasts with the Council’s openness. An ecclesiological displacement has taken place, and this has to do with the end of the Christian era and the beginning of a new missionary era, which demands an internal and external restructuring for the church. Such a restructuring needs a new form of evangelization and spirituality, an internal reform, and a new position within a changing world much different from the world fifty years ago."
