Abstract
Islam is often portrayed as “The Religion of Sword”. It teaches violence, and encourage unnecessary bloodshed. But those perception were false. The Noble Qur‟an gives a firm guidance on the philosophy of war. This article will elaborate on the philosophy of war explained by Islamic doctrine in the Noble Qur‟an and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) hadith. Since war is deeply philosophical in Islam, this article will start from the position of human beings in Islam and their holy duty as God‟s representatives in Earth.
