Abstract
This study analyzes the relation between the religious practice dala’il khairat and work ethos of the students in Pesantren Darul Falah K.H Ahmad Basyir Kudus. The study aims to identify the effect of the Dala’il Khairat spirit on work ethos and economic improvement of the students. Qualitative method was used in the study. The study was conducted in Pesantren Darul Falah Jekulo Kudus led by K.H. Ahmad Basyir, who is also the mujiz of the dala’il khairat practiced by the students as well as the alumni of the pesantren who generally are married and develop their business in Central Java, Yogyakarta, and Kuningan West Java.. Data was collected by participatory observation, in-depth interview, and documentation from informants that include mujiz of dala’il khairat, administrators of pesantren, students, public figures, and alumni who practice dala’il khairat. Economic analysis has shown the effect of spirit or belief in dala’il khairat practice on business development. By practicing dala’il khairat, they are more spirited and have higher work ethos. The practice of dala’il khairat has resulted in the dynamic economic life of the people who practice it.
