Abstract
"«El Derecho (para el romano) es, pues, por esencia, lo irreformable, lo invariable. Las necesidades de la vida colectiva obligan, sin embargo, a introducir en él modificaciones y, por tanto, reformas. Pero la actitud que se adopte ante esta necesidad, en efecto, ineludible, de reformar el Derecho es lo que define cuál sea la actitud ante él, lo que para un pueblo, para una época es el Derecho" [""The law (to the Roman), then, in essence, what irreformable, the invariable. The needs of collective life force, however, amendments made thereto and therefore reforms. But the approach taken to this need, indeed unavoidable, to reform the law is what defines what the attitude to it, which for a people, for a time is the Right"]
