Abstract
"Comencemos preguntándonos qué es el ecumenismo. La palabra viene del griego oikoumenê, compuesta por el sustantivo oikos, casa o familia, y el verbo menô, mantenerse, permanecer. Es el mantenimiento de la familia. Oikoumênê es la preservación de la casa de conflictos internos. No debe confundirse con economía, derivada del mismo sustantivo oikos con el verbo nemô, pastar o alimentar. Así, en su conversación con Kritóbulo e Isjómajos acerca de la economía, Sócrates discute la administración de una hacienda,1 y hace énfasis en la alimentación de la casa y la renovación de sus bienes. Oikoumênê es otra cosa: la preservación de la casa de conflictos internos o externos; mira hacia afuera de la casa al mundo más amplio, el mundo habitado en su conjunto. Así, el Diablo promete a Jesús “todos los reinos de la oikoumene” si le adora (Lc 4,5). El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) surge ante el escándalo de que la Iglesia por la que Jesús pidió unidad poco antes de morir (Jn 17:20-21) exista en incontables “denominaciones”. Entonces, es la desunión en la familia, una de las preocupaciones de la oikoumenê, el motivo que convoca el moderno movimiento ecuménico" ["Let's start by asking what is ecumenism. The word comes from Greek Oikoumene, composed of the noun oikos, home or family, and the verb meno, stay, stay. It is the maintenance of the family. Oikoumene is the preservation of the house of internal conflicts. Not to be confused with economics, derived from oikos same noun with verb nemo, grazing or feeding. The World Council of Churches (WCC) comes to the scandal of the Church for which Jesus prayed unit shortly before his death (John 17: 20-21) there are countless "names". So is disunity in the family, one of the concerns of the Oikoumene, the reason that calls the modern ecumenical movement"]
