Abstract
"Esta pesquisa investigou em que medida o Espiritismo se apresenta como a continuação histórica e profética do Cristianismo. Com base na interpretação dos livros que compõem a Doutrina Espírita pode-se perceber a ênfase na revitalização da figura exemplar de Jesus de Nazaré, num revigoramento da ética do amor e da fé heróica das primeiras comunidades cristãs. O Espiritismo não é só mais um movimento neófito. Mas se apresenta como herdeiro da filosofia cristã, bem como um movimento profético de retorno às origens. Abre-se ao diálogo com as ciências, mas retoma a centralidade do amor-caridade, reinterpretando o pentecostes e potencializando a mediunidade como mecanismo de instrução e consolo, no contato com a falange dos Espíritos Santos" ["This study researched to what extent Kardecist spiritualism presents itself as the historical and prophetic continuance of Christianity. Our reading of the literary corpus of Kardecist doctrine allowed us to notice the emphasis on a revitalization of the exemplary figure of Jesus from Nazareth, in an attempt at reinvigorating the ethics of love and the heroic faith of the first Christian communities. Kardecist spiritualism, so this study concludes, is not a simple neo-age movement. It presents itself as the heir of Christian tradition, as well as a prophetic movement returning to the origins. It opens itself to a dialogue with the sciences, but retrieves the centrality of charity-love, reinterpreting Pentecost and potentializing mediunity as a mechanism providing instruction and consolation, in the contact with the host of saint spirits"]
